FAQs

  • I have a full specialist kit of cameras, lenses, microphones and lighting that allow me to capture your day beautifully in full.

If you have any questions about my filming process, please feel free to get in touch.

  • I love capturing aerial videography! For an example of my drone work click here.

Weddings: I do not charge extra for drone footage and wherever possible I will include it in my filming as I love to include dynamic aerial shots as part of the final film.

However, I will never guarantee you that I can get drone footage, as poor weather conditions, air traffic restrictions and other aircraft regulations can mean there are times and places where it would be unsafe and/or illegal for me to fly.

Please rest assured that wherever possible I will include drone footage as part of your wedding package, but that it is not necessary for making a beautiful, modern and dynamic wedding film and your final product will not be impacted.

Events: not all events will benefit from aerial shots, so please enquire ahead of time if you wish to include drone footage as part of your events package. As above, drone footage is never guaranteed and thus you will not be charged extra.

  • Firstly congratulations! You’re very welcome here. I’m here to celebrate the couples I work with and I aim to see them as they are, not carve them up in the editing room to squeeze them into a heteronormative lens. That means making no assumptions about what anyone’s love or day looks like and not assuming that you and your relationship fall into some stereotype.

From asking for pronouns on my enquiry form to asking extensive questions about your wedding day and film, I will make sure I know how to get killer shots of your day and how to represent you accurately on film. I love to represent my couples as equal parties and as their true selves, so we can talk about how to best capture footage of both of you getting ready, footage of you both walking down the aisle, footage of whatever new or old traditions you are choosing to participate in.

The poses photographers and videographers use on weddings are often quite gendered & heteronormative. I try to steer clear of this, getting you to walk, cuddle & laugh together to capture your love in a natural way. But we can also talk about poses you’re comfortable with or that would make you feel euphoric in advance: we can go for those masculine shots getting into your suit or feminine shots twirling in your dress - whatever works for you!

Finally, I’ve got your back and a team of LGBTQ+ friends who are on hand to give me second opinions, so that you can be sure as hell that no matter what Aunty Mildred lets slip in her drunk & unplanned speech, no misgendering or misplaced joke is going to make it anywhere near your highlights film. Any concerns or questions, I’d be happy to talk to you so get in touch.

  • I know how important music is to creating a top-notch film. And it’s true, I do adore Florence & The Machine!

Unfortunately, however, copyright law prevents me from using her music or any other chart hits in my films.

What I can do though is use licensed music: well-produced and high-quality tracks by talented independent artists.

If music is important to you, in your pre-event consultation we can discuss everything from genre to mood so that the soundtrack to your film is as emotive and well-suited to you as your first dance track.

All of the films showcased on my website use licensed music so feel free to check them out!

  • You’d be surprised how often we videographers get asked this question! You’ve hired a photographer, you’ve got an iPhone camera, all the guests have social accounts they’ll be posting clips to - so why would you go to the trouble of hiring someone to capture a video of your wedding or event?

I specialise in landmark, sometimes once-in-a-lifetime events: events that money, time and love has been invested in, events that people who don’t see each other every day have taken time out of their busy lives to attend. When these days with all their investment and all their precious moments are over, photos, videos and memory are all we have to look back on. Video doesn’t replace photo, but captures things it can’t - the way your loved one’s voice cracked in the vows, or the hilarious story that your best friend told in her toast.

And just as you wouldn’t expect your guests to produce the same standard of photos as a professional, your guests iphone videos are not going to have the quality, the sound levels, the framing, the attention to detail of a videographer’s lens. Not to mention that you want your guests to be focusing on enjoying themselves, not making a film, and having smartphones out all day is not a good look in your pro photos!

Whatever your event, I can create an individualised package that helps you to remember your day with the style and quality it deserves.

  • Although each event is quoted individually, there are a few things that usually make a wedding a little bit different.

Firstly, whereas the average time I spend at a party or community event is around 5/6hrs, I am often at a wedding day for 12+.

Secondly, there are also more moving parts than at other events: a ceremony, multiple venues, multiple big moments, multiple speeches, a portrait session. A lot goes into being prepared for filming a wedding that just makes it a different beast to an event with a toast, a dance and a dinner!

My prices reflect the work, the pressure and the time I commit to an event, and often weddings are just different.

I know there are certain blogs out there that advise lying to wedding suppliers (!) about the type of event you are arranging, but if you don’t tell me what’s going down at your event, you will get an unprepared videographer, and a worse film.

If you’re on a budget I do offer reduced hour packages, as well as packages for elopements and micro-weddings, so please get in touch.

  • Yes! I love working with photographers and having someone to bounce ideas off of on a filming day. I always ask for details of your photographer in advance of your wedding so that I can see their style and get in contact with them.

  • I aim to return all final films within 2-4 months of the event, with a teaser trailer returned in 1-3 weeks. Expect to wait longer at peak times, or if you have purchased a bigger/more complex package.

  • I am based in Nottingham but will drive 90mins free of charge to cover your event. Locations within this radius include Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Sheffield, Doncaster, Peterborough, Coventry, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon & Stoke-on-Trent. If you are unsure whether your venue falls within this radius I can let you know before you book.

Weddings/events further out may incur additional petrol and accommodation expenses. I am always upfront about whether this will be the case for you.

Please note that, depending on the timeframe covered, reduced hour packages may also incur travel charges if you are booking for a venue outside of Nottingham. Please ask when you enquire.
