Hey, I’m Lucy

fancy seeing you here

film-maker | tea-drinker | nature-lover | over-thinker

Hello! I’m Lucy, lead videographer, editor & owner at Waystone Films.

I am a trained documentarian and filmmaker who has found her way to joy through creating films about love, life & celebration.

I love extravagance, festivity, the grand entrance, the big moments, the raucous singing.

I love ritual, poetry, the details, the small moments, the quality of the light.

With an eye for aesthetics, a perfectionistic nature and an ability to listen closely and deliver what my clients really want, I make one-of-a-kind films that allow celebrations to live on long after the day has past.

What is a Waystone?

Placed along ancient roadways, waystones were manmade landmarks marking the journey ahead. Later these developed into milestones, engravings in rock that still today are used on hiking routes to tell the traveller how far they've come, and how many miles they have still to go.

Today, of course, the term milestone is used more commonly to discuss a big event or new stage in a person's life. These moments are rightly recognised as special or sacred and, being human, we choose to celebrate them!

But life is not as linear and structured as to move us through stages one mile at a time: it is a wilder and blinder journey.

Not milestones then, but waystones; the landmark events that define our journey through this unpredictable life, different for each person on the road, that tell us where we've been and where we hope to go.

I want to help you mark the major events of your life's journey, to remember these big moments in style.

I see my job in two halves:

  1. As a filmmaker, I use all of my creative power to produce a unique and evocative short film of your event.

By capturing all of the magic and joy of your event, making creative and beautiful filming decisions, adding carefully chosen music and adapting my editing style to your taste, I aim to create a polished final film that moves you, astounds you, delights you, and allows you to relive and share your day over and over again.

  2. As a documentarian, I use all of my practical expertise to make sure filming runs smoothly on the day and that all of the key moments are recorded.

I set up multiple cameras, multiple microphones and lights where needed to make sure that the key moments of your day are caught on film to be relived and remembered in full.

If you wish these can then be delivered to you with the most minimal of editing, just as they happened.

Footage of ceremony & speeches is always included with wedding packages. Extra footage of your wedding or event available as an add-on.
